What do you do to de-stress?

Even the most fun jobs can be stressful. Sure, my job as an Extra is not as stressful as Management Consulting, Brain Surgery, or being a front line Emergency Doctor, but there is pressure to get productions “perfect” before premiere, and there is pressure to perform. I’ve noticed that it affects people in different ways.

As a recovering perfectionist with a usually high level of self-administered pressure, I was very interested to hear others’ ways of coping.

One Dancer is constantly stretching as a way to release stress from his body. Another Extra uses downtime to lie down and snooze. Another learns a language between scenes to switch off.

I’ve discovered that walking home works for me. Just ten minutes is enough to reset my brain, move my body, get some perspective.

So, what is your de-stresser?
